3D Dimensional Letters in Tenerife: What They Are, LED & Prices

3D dimensional letters (built-up letters) are letters with real volume fixed to a façade, wall or totem, with or without LED light; in Tenerife we 3D-print them from €300 for an indoor format. You see letters with volume and their own light on a restaurant façade or an office reception and you think: “now that’s a real brand.” Those are dimensional letters — the classic of quality signage. Here’s why we make them in 3D instead of aluminium, and how to choose between front-lit, halo effect or no light.

What 3D dimensional letters are

Dimensional letters (or 3D letters) are letters with body and depth mounted on a façade, a wall or a totem. Unlike flat vinyl or a printed plaque, they have real volume: they cast shadow by day and, if they carry LEDs, they glow at night. It’s the format that gives serious-business presence on façades, restaurants and receptions.

They used to be cut and welded in aluminium or stainless steel. We 3D-print them piece by piece, with the LED channel already built into the body of each letter.

3D printing vs aluminium: why 3D wins

Aluminium signage is expensive because each letter is cut, bent and welded by hand: workshop hours you end up paying for. 3D printing makes the whole body in one piece, with no moulds or welding. The difference shows:

That last point matters more than it seems: if a letter gets knocked or damaged, we reprint just that one, not the whole sign.

With LED light, halo effect or no light

The same set of letters changes completely depending on how you light it:

  • Front-lit (LED): the face of the letter glows directly. Maximum visibility, ideal for façades that want to catch the eye from the street.
  • Halo effect (back-lit): the letter projects a halo of light onto the wall while the face stays matte. Very elegant, uses fewer LEDs and a favourite for receptions and premium brands.
  • No light, in relief: pure volume with its own shadow. For tight budgets or spots with good ambient light.

You can see every illuminated format on our LED signs service.

Materials, depending on where they go

  • ASA — for outdoors and first-line coastal spots. It withstands the Canary sun and salt without UV yellowing. It’s the mandatory material if the sign faces the street or the sea.
  • PLA / PETG — for interiors (receptions, bars, walls). A good finish and a keen price when you don’t have to fight the climate.

Outdoor LED electronics are always sealed to IP65, with LEDs rated for over 50,000 hours.

What to know before you decide

No dimensional letter is bulletproof, and we’d rather tell you upfront: common ABS and PLA degrade under UV radiation if left unprotected, and on the first line of the coast, salt attacks any fixing hardware that isn’t stainless. That’s why we insist on ASA (not plain ABS or PLA) and stainless hardware outdoors, never a generic material. The full breakdown of what coastal climate does to a sign and which materials actually hold up is in which sign survives the Canary coast climate.

Sizes, installation and reference price

SizeWhere it fits
20 – 40 cmTabletop, bar, portable photocall
60 – 100 cmReception, shop wall, meeting room
1 – 2 mFaçade, main sign of the premises

Interior LED dimensional letters start from €300; the halo effect and outdoor ASA material raise the price a little depending on size and number of letters. Pieces up to 30 cm come in one piece; larger ones we make in sections with joining and a professional finish. In Tenerife we install them ourselves; to other islands we ship the kit with a mounting template.

Where they’re used

  • Façades of shops, restaurants, clinics and gyms.
  • Receptions and offices: the illuminated relief logo that greets whoever walks in.
  • Bars and restaurants: the glowing backdrop of every photo your customers post.

Frequently asked questions

How much do dimensional letters cost?

The price of built-up letters depends on size, whether they're lit and the material. In Tenerife we start from €300 for interior LED dimensional letters; halo backlighting and outdoor ASA material raise the price a little. Send us your logo and dimensions and we'll give you a fixed quote in 24 h.

What are 3D dimensional letters?

They're built-up letters with volume (a body) fixed to a façade or wall, with or without LED light. We make them with 3D printing, which makes them lighter and cheaper than aluminium, in any font or shape.

Do LED dimensional letters work outdoors?

Yes, as long as they're made in ASA material (sun- and salt-resistant, no UV yellowing) with sealed IP65 LED electronics. That way they withstand the Canary Islands coastal climate for years.
