A club tournament: a whole set across several categories
The situation. Entries close and the real award list appears: champion and runner-up in three categories, MVP, top scorer, and medals for every participant. That means small quantities of many different pieces, a date that will not move, and a budget that comes out of membership fees.
Three routes. The catalogue is cheap and arrives fast, but it hands out the same golden cup as every other tournament on the island. Stamped metal gives a medal the weight people associate with a real prize, but it demands high minimum orders and the design is limited to what the die allows. 3D printing has no minimums and no moulds: each category can have its own shape and colour, from a single unit up.
The honest trade-off. Past a hundred identical medals, metal is cheaper per unit — and a printed medal weighs noticeably less than a metal one, which anyone expecting that heft will feel the moment they pick it up. For short runs and varied categories, printing wins.

A tribute plaque: when the text is what matters
The situation. A retirement, a company anniversary, a new office opening, or recognition for a coach who has been at the club for fifteen years. One or two pieces are needed, the text has to read perfectly, and the plaque will hang on a wall for years.
Two techniques. Laser engraving on acrylic or metal gives an extremely fine line: small text and serif typefaces come out flawless, but the result is flat and single-colour. 3D printing allows real relief, a full-colour logo and shapes that are not rectangles — though at very small point sizes the print layers can’t match the crispness of a laser.
What we propose. When the text is the star, we combine the two: a 3D printed body with the emblem in relief and an engraved front for the dedication. The commemorative plaque gets its depth and the text keeps its edge. Usual lead time: 3-5 working days. A company’s annual gala: the piece will be photographed
The situation. Internal awards handed out in front of the whole workforce, with photos that end up on LinkedIn and the intranet. A standard trophy with an engraved plaque does the job, but nobody remembers it the next day and it does not survive a close-up.
What a bespoke design changes. We start from the corporate logo and turn it into volume: the brand stops being a sticker on a golden column and becomes the shape of the award itself. Variants per category are possible while keeping one visual family.
The honest trade-off. Plastic has to earn the perception of prestige, and a badly resolved metallic finish reads as cheap immediately. That’s why for corporate pieces we print a prototype of the real finish first: if it doesn’t convince in the hand, we change it before committing to the run.
What we propose. Prototype in 3-4 working days, the run afterwards, with an illuminated base if the award is presented on stage. If there’s also a keepsake for attendees or sponsors, we look at it alongside corporate gifts.
How much does a trophy, a medal or a plaque cost?
The price comes down to three things: size, finish (single colour, two-colour, metallic effect or illuminated) and quantity. A cheap personalised medal for a fun run and a thirty-centimetre gala award are not in the same league, even though they come off the same printer.
As a guide: medals from €6-12 per unit depending on quantity, small trophies and plaques from €20-25, medium cups with base and plaque between €35 and €60, and large tribute pieces from €80. Unit prices fall on runs — and if yours is a case where stamped metal works out better, we’ll say so.
